Ok, since I'm apparently the only one who frequents these parts and to stem the possible tide of spamming on my part, I will now post every game I run into and try in this topic. Feel free to contribute or comment.
Game 1: Dwarf Fortress

This game is...is nuts, first off I guess I'll talk about the graphics, or the perceived lack of them. This game is the epitome of design over looks and it shows obviously with the ASCII-esque graphics but that's only scratching the surface.
Go down a bit deeper and you find a game of INCREDIBLE depth and complexity and easy for first timers to get a bit overwhelmed and make mistakes, which is fine because the motto of this game is that losing is fun. And fun indeed. An example is if you have your dwarves hunting a certain type of animal you may end up with seasonly attacks from packs of said animals and usually they take down a couple dogs or unarmed dwarves before they get put down or go away.
I'd offer you guys screen shots of this game but I haven't quite figured out how to take them eh heh...
